Toddlers
Our Toddler Program cares for children 15 months to 2 years of age. Each of our toddler rooms has loving teachers who each care primarily for 5 toddlers in our "Primary Care" environment. "Primary Care" allows each teacher to give consistent, individual attention to each toddler. Your primary caregiver will change your toddler's diaper, monitor your child's eating habits and get to know the best way for your toddler to gain independence in a social setting. Your toddler will be loved and cuddled in a secure environment. You will get to meet your "Primary Caregiver" shortly before you begin with the program.
Our program allows toddlers to move freely throughout the classroom, experiencing art, sensory, language, small and large motor activities during a scheduled "activity time". We honor each toddler's unique capabilities and strive to create classrooms that children will succeed in.
Routines are a natural part of our curriculum and are considered to be quality learning experiences. Toddlers are taught what is to be expected. When a toddler has an understanding of what is going to happen next, they are more able to develop a sense of security and trust of their teachers and their surroundings.
The toddler period is a time of physical development and exploration. Toddlers need lots of opportunities to practice using their hands and fingers to develop eye-hand coordination. At The Learning Tree we offer your toddler a variety of hands-on activities that will promote growth and development in all stages of toddlerhood.
